Cornerstone Training Institute can assist by  providing training, outreach, education and assistance. These specialized courses reflect OSHA’s belief that training is an essential part of every
safety and health program for protecting workers from injuries and illnesses. We conduct various OSHA training programs for both the Construction and General Industry sectors.

OSHA Health and Safety in Construction 10-Hrs

OSHA 10-hour training teaches basic safety and health information to entry-level workers in construction and general industry. It is part of the OSHA Outreach Training Program, which explains serious workplace hazards, workers' rights, employer responsibilities and how to file an OSHA complaint.

OSHA Health and Safety in General Industry 10-Hrs

OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Training is appropriate for workers in the following fields: healthcare, factory operations, warehousing, manufacturing, storage and more. Enrollment and completion of OSHA 10 General Industry Training will help educate workers to predict, prevent, identify and stop possible common worksite hazards.

OSHA Health and Safety in Construction 30-Hrs

The OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Health & Safety course teaches OSHA regulations and standards as they apply to the construction industry. The course covers practices of identifying, reducing, eliminating and reporting on-site hazards. It also teaches safety awareness and assists supervisors in recognizing and reducing risks in the workplace. This program will assist employers in training supervisors for competent person status.

OSHA Health and Safety in General Industry

30-Hrs

This OSHA 30-hour Construction Industry Outreach Training is designed for anyone in the construction industry. The course is specifically made to meet the requirements for safety directors, forepersons, and field supervisors.  The OSHA 30-hour General Industry Safety and Health training program covers an overview of the hazards a worker may encounter on the job. Training emphasizes hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention. Students will receive their OSHA 30-Hour for General Industry Safety and Health card following completion of the course.

OSHA HAZARDOUS WASTE OPERATIONS EMERGENCY RESPONSE (HAZWOPER) 40-Hrs

The 40-hour course is the initial training for workers with the highest risk under HAZWOPER standards. Workers need the 40-hour HAZWOPER initial training if they'll: Work with and clean up hazardous materials regularly. Be involved in the storage and treatment of hazardous substances. Have exposure at or above PELs.

OSHA HAZARDOUS WASTE OPERATIONS EMERGENCY RESPONSE (HAZWOPER) Refresher 8-Hrs

If you remove hazardous wastes or are exposed to hazardous substances at your job and need to meet annual training requirements, our 8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher course is perfect for you. The course reviews all the materials required by OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120

Aerial Lift Operator

This class is designed for employees who operator hydraulic lifts. The training is recommended every 3 years.

 
Asbestos Awareness

Asbestos containing materials (ACM) can be found in nearly all pre-1980 buildings. It is important that all employees follow proper work practices to minimize the potential for disturbing ACM. This training is mandatory for employees who may be exposed to ACM in the course of their jobs (per OSHA 1910.1001).

 
Bloodborne Pathogens

Annual bloodborne pathogen training covers all your employees who have the potential for occupational exposures with blood or potentially infectious materials during the course of their job duties. Bloodborne pathogens include Hepatitis A, B, and C and HIV.

 
CPR/First Aid

We offer a wide variety of courses in CPR and First Aid, including the American Red Cross Certification. We strongly encouraged that you have 1-2 employees per crew that participate in this program.

 
Emergency Preparedness

This custom course is designed to help your employees understand the information and preparation techniques that will help them cope in the event of an emergency or disaster on your jobsites. Emergencies may include natural disasters, bomb threats, workplace violence, chemical spills, and fire. What to do before, during, and after an emergency is discussed.

 
Fire Extinguisher

Fire extinguisher training is designed to familiarize employees with the types, use, and limitations of operating a fire extinguisher. This training is offered during General Safety Training, or can be schedule for independent courses.

 
Food Safety

This training will provide basic food sanitation theories and some practical knowledge for food handling and protection for food establishment workers. The training will discuss some basic food protection techniques such as temperature limits, hand washing, cross contamination, cleaning and sanitizing.

 
Forklift Training

Forklift certification is recommended every 3 years for employees who operate forklifts as part of their job duties. Training includes the potential hazards associated with forklifts and hand-on operation of the forklift.

 
Hazard Communication

OSHA’s HAZCOM STANDARD 1910.1200 (the Right-To-Know Law) requires that all employees be provided with ready access to important health and safety information regarding hazardous substances on every job site. We can provide this course as part of your annual general safety training, or as an independent 1-3 hour course.

 
Hearing Conservation

Cornerstone has established a Hearing Conservation Program designed to maintain effective control over the harmful effects of excessive noise on employees. The program includes medical monitoring and training in the use of personal protective equipment designed to limit the excessive noise that may create harmful injury to employees.

 
Ladder Safety

This in-depth course presents information on selecting, storing, inspecting, and using ladders.

This training is usually combined with other topics as part of an annual general safety program.

 
Lockout/Tagout

This custom course provides for procedures for your employees who maintain any electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and other energy systems, which could unexpectedly start up and cause injury. Authorized employees will learn to isolate, lock and tag the equipment to warn others that maintenance is occurring and equipment cannot be operated.

 
Office Ergonomics

This custom course is designed for employees who work in an office setting. Participates will learn to recognize risk factors associated with muscular-skeletal disorders (MSDs), and potential sprain/strain injuries as well as be familiar with the body areas affected. Useful exercises and workstation design are included.

 
Respirator Protection

Annual respirator safety training I required per OSHA 1910.134.  This training insures that safe practices and requirements for using the equipment are in compliance with state regulations. Respirators protect workers from inhaling particulate matter, toxic gases and fumes they may encounter on the job.

 
Trenching and Shoring

All trenches deeper than five feet are required to have means of protecting the worker in the trench. Various methods exist such as shoring or benching of the trench to prevent a cave-in onto the employee. Training will cover the necessary requirements for this activity.  Our expert instructors are extremely familiar with the rules and industry standards to protect you and your employees.
